Mailchimp has a native AddEvent content block. AddCal does not have a block; it gives you links, which go into Mailchimp's own Button or text blocks and work the same way for the reader, with no cap on clicks.
For one event (every plan)
Every AddCal event has a public page. Its URL on its own lets the reader pick their calendar; add a calendar name to the end for a direct link:
https://addcal.co/e/your-event/google https://addcal.co/e/your-event/apple https://addcal.co/e/your-event/outlook https://addcal.co/e/your-event/office365 https://addcal.co/e/your-event/yahoo
Create the event in AddCal, open its public page and copy the links you want.
In the Mailchimp campaign builder, drag in a Button block for each calendar you want to offer, or a single button to the event page.
Paste the matching link. Append UTM parameters if you want the adds attributed to this campaign in AddCal analytics, for example
?utm_source=mailchimp&utm_campaign=spring-webinar.Send a test and tap each button on a phone.
For a different date per subscriber (Business)
A webinar series, a renewal date or a deadline stored in an audience field can become each reader's own calendar entry. Dynamic Links accept Mailchimp merge tags:
https://addcal.co/api/dyn?uid=dk_abc123&service=google&title=*|EVENT_TITLE|*&start=*|EVENT_START|*&timezone=America/New_York
Create the Dynamic Link key under Connect, then Dynamic Links, in AddCal.
Store the title and start in audience merge fields; Mailchimp fills them per recipient at send time. Pass
endorduration(minutes) too.One button per
service(google,apple,outlook,outlook_web,office365,yahoo,ics), or omitservicefor the picker.Use the Link Builder in AddCal to encode the URL without encoding the
*|FIELD|*tags. See Using merge fields with Smart Links and Dynamic Links.
How this differs from the AddEvent block
The AddEvent block renders inside the Mailchimp editor and counts each click against the AddEvent plan's monthly click allowance (100 a month on its free plan; checked October 2026). AddCal links count clicks for your analytics but never cap them, on any plan. The trade is that you paste links into Button blocks rather than drag in a block.
Common questions
Will Mailchimp's click tracking interfere? No. Tracked links redirect through Mailchimp and land on AddCal as normal.
Can I put the links in a plain-text campaign? Yes. The event page link works on its own; the reader picks their calendar on the page.
Can people subscribe to all my events instead? Yes. Put the calendar's subscribe link in the campaign footer and every future event reaches them without another campaign. See Creating and sharing your first calendar.
Can RSVPs go back into my audience? Yes, through Zapier: the AddCal New RSVP trigger can tag or add the contact in Mailchimp, so attendees get the follow-up sequence. See Zapier integration.
