Verify your account to send emails

Why AddCal may ask you to verify your account before sending larger batches of calendar invites or import confirmations, and how to complete verification.

To keep AddCal a trusted place to send from, we ask some accounts to verify who they are before they send larger batches of email. This applies to the emails you send to lists of people, such as calendar invites and confirmation emails from an attendee import. It protects everyone's deliverability: AddCal sends on shared infrastructure, so one account sending spam would push everyone's email toward the spam folder. Most accounts never need to do anything.

When AddCal asks you to verify

There are two stages, and only the second one pauses sending:

  • A reminder banner. After you have sent 20 of these emails in total, a banner appears asking you to verify your account. This is only a nudge: your email keeps sending normally.

  • A pause on larger sends. If you try to send to a large group at once, or your total across time grows large, AddCal pauses that send until your account is verified. When this happens you see a message like Larger sends need verification. Please verify your account to keep sending., and we email you a link to the verification form.

Only emails you send to other people count toward this: calendar invites you send, invite updates and cancellations, and confirmation emails sent from an attendee import. Emails that a visitor triggers themselves, such as a confirmation for their own RSVP or an invite they requested on your event page, do not count.

Verify your account

Open the verification form from the banner or from the link we email you. Fill in a few short details about who you are and how you collect your contacts, then submit for review:

  • Business name.

  • Website (optional).

  • What does your business do?

  • How do people opt in / consent to hear from you?

  • Where did your contact list come from?

  • Roughly how many emails do you expect to send?

Click Submit for review. A person on our team reviews your details, so approval is not instant, but it usually takes a short while. Only import contacts who have explicitly agreed to hear from you: cold, purchased, or scraped lists break our terms and anti-spam laws, and will not be approved.

After you submit

While your submission is being reviewed, the banner shows Verification under review and larger sends stay paused. You can check your status at any time from the same page.

  • Approved. We email you to confirm, the banner disappears, and your sends go out normally from then on.

  • Needs changes. If we cannot approve it yet, we email you what we need and the banner shows Verification needs attention. Open the form again, update your details, and resubmit.

This is separate from your plan's monthly email allowance. For how many emails your plan includes, see Managing your subscription, payments & invoices. To send calendar invites, see Send calendar invites for an event.
