Organize and manage your events

Tag, pin, and filter events, and bulk-manage them: delete, tag, or move many events at once.

Once you have several events, AddCal gives you a few ways to keep them tidy: tag events and filter by tag, pin the important ones to the top, and act on many events at once. This article covers each.

Tag events and filter by tag

Tags are free-form labels you add to an event so you can group and find related events later.

  1. Open an event for editing.

  2. In the Tags field, type a label and press enter. The field suggests tags you have used before, or you can create a new one.

  3. Save the event.

To filter your event list by tag, use the Tag dropdown above the list. Choose All tags to clear the filter, or pick a tag to show only events that carry it.

Pin important events to the top

Pinning keeps an event at the top of your lists so it does not get lost among everything else.

  1. Open the event for editing.

  2. Turn on the Pin Event toggle.

  3. Save the event.

Pinned events appear first in your calendar lists, grouped under a Pinned heading. Turn the toggle off to unpin.

Manage several events at once

You can act on many events in one step instead of editing them one by one.

  1. In your event list, hover over an event row and tick its checkbox to start selecting.

  2. Tick the checkbox on each event you want to include. To include every event in the list, use the select-all checkbox, then choose Select all matching events if there are more than fit on one page.

  3. Use the action toolbar that appears to run one of the bulk actions below.

To leave selection mode without acting, choose Clear selection or close the toolbar.

Bulk delete

Select the events you want to remove, then choose Delete in the toolbar. AddCal removes the selected events and confirms how many were deleted. Deleting an event is permanent.

Bulk tag

Select the events, then choose Tag. In the dialog:

  1. Add one or more tags in the Tags field.

  2. Under Mode, choose Add to existing tags to keep each event's current tags, or Replace existing tags to swap them out for the new ones.

  3. Choose Apply Tags.

Bulk move to another calendar

If you have more than one calendar, you can move selected events between them. Select the events, then choose Move. In the dialog, pick a calendar under Target Calendar and choose Move Events. The current calendar is labeled (current) and cannot be chosen as the target.
