What are Draft Events? π
Draft events in AddCal are unpublished events that you can create, edit, and perfect before making them live. They're visible only to you and your team members until you decide to publish them.
Key Differences: Draft vs Published Events
Feature | Draft Events | Published Events |
Visibility | Team members only | Public (based on calendar settings) |
RSVP Collection | Not available | Fully functional |
Public Links | Not accessible | Available for sharing |
Badge Display | Orange "Draft" badge shown | No draft badge |
Creating a Draft Event π
There are two ways to create draft events in AddCal:
Method 1: Create Draft Directly
Navigate to your calendar dashboard
Click "Create Event"
Fill in your event details (title, date, description, etc.)
Click "Create Draft Event" button (located next to the main "Create Event" button)
Your event is now saved as a draft with an orange "Draft" badge
Method 2: Toggle Draft Mode After Creation
Create a regular event first
Edit the event
Find the "Draft Mode" toggle switch in the Calendar section
Turn the toggle ON to make the event a draft
Click "Update Event" to save the changes
Managing Your Draft Events π
Identifying Draft Events
Draft events display an orange "Draft" badge in your event list
The badge makes it easy to quickly identify which events are still in draft mode
Draft events appear alongside your published events but are clearly marked
Editing Draft Events
Click on any draft event from your event list
Click the edit button (pencil icon) or select "Edit Event" from the dropdown menu
Make your desired changes
Click "Update Event" to save your changes
The Draft Mode toggle will show "Event is hidden from public" when ON
Publishing Your Draft Event π
When you're ready to make your event live:
Open your draft event for editing
Find the "Draft Mode" toggle in the Calendar section
Turn the toggle OFF (it will now show "Event is publicly visible")
Click "Update Event"
The orange "Draft" badge will disappear from your event
Your event is now live and visible to your audience
RSVPs and public sharing are now active
β οΈ Important: Once published, any further changes will immediately affect the live event and may impact attendees who have already RSVP'd.
