There are two ways to create draft events in AddCal:

  2. Click "Create Event"

  3. Fill in your event details (title, date, description, etc.)

  4. Click "Create Draft Event" button (located next to the main "Create Event" button)

  5. Your event is now saved as a draft with an orange "Draft" badge

Method 2: Toggle Draft Mode After Creation

  1. Create a regular event first

  2. Edit the event

  3. Find the "Draft Mode" toggle switch in the Calendar section

  4. Turn the toggle ON to make the event a draft

  5. Click "Update Event" to save the changes

Managing Your Draft Events πŸ“‹

Identifying Draft Events

  • Draft events display an orange "Draft" badge in your event list

  • The badge makes it easy to quickly identify which events are still in draft mode

  • Draft events appear alongside your published events but are clearly marked

Editing Draft Events

  1. Click on any draft event from your event list

  2. Click the edit button (pencil icon) or select "Edit Event" from the dropdown menu

  3. Make your desired changes

  4. Click "Update Event" to save your changes

  5. The Draft Mode toggle will show "Event is hidden from public" when ON

Publishing Your Draft Event πŸš€

When you're ready to make your event live:

  1. Open your draft event for editing

  2. Find the "Draft Mode" toggle in the Calendar section

  3. Turn the toggle OFF (it will now show "Event is publicly visible")

  4. Click "Update Event"

  5. The orange "Draft" badge will disappear from your event

  6. Your event is now live and visible to your audience

  7. RSVPs and public sharing are now active

⚠️ Important: Once published, any further changes will immediately affect the live event and may impact attendees who have already RSVP'd.

Visual Indicators πŸ‘οΈ

AddCal makes it easy to identify draft events:

  • Orange "Draft" Badge: Appears on all draft events in your event list

  • Toggle Status: The Draft Mode toggle clearly shows "Event is hidden from public" vs "Event is publicly visible"

  • Button Options: New events show both "Create Draft Event" and "Create Event" buttons

Important Notes ⚠️

  • Team Access: All team members can view and edit draft events within your AddCal account

  • Manual Saving: Remember to click "Update Event" to save any changes you make

  • RSVP Data: You cannot collect RSVPs for draft events

  • Visual Clarity: The orange "Draft" badge ensures you never accidentally leave an event unpublished

  • Publishing Control: Draft events give you complete control over when your events go live
