Keep your pages out of search engines

Turn on Block Search Engines to add a noindex tag and stop search engines listing your public AddCal pages.

You can stop search engines (like Google) from listing your public AddCal calendar and event pages. Turn on Block Search Engines and AddCal adds a noindex tag to your pages, which tells search engines and bots not to index them.

Turn on Block Search Engines

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Find the Data Settings section.

  3. Switch on Block Search Engines.

The change saves straight away. From then on, search engines and bots are prevented from indexing your calendars and events.

What it does

When the setting is on, AddCal adds a noindex meta tag (a small instruction in the page that asks search engines not to list it) to all your public pages. To allow indexing again, switch Block Search Engines back off.

Good to know

  • This setting applies to your team's pages, so it covers your calendars and events together.

  • A noindex tag is a request, not a hard block. Most search engines respect it, but it can take time for an already-listed page to drop out of results.

  • The setting controls search engine listing only. It does not make a page private: anyone with the link can still open it.
